2. 体会这个词 （进阶篇）

我们都熟悉“home”的意思是“家”，be home to 常用来表示“某人或某物的所在地”，“某地拥有”，比如“中国有十四亿人”就可以说成“China is home to 1.4 billion people”。home 的这种用法是一个常见的、经常被忽略的好用表达。

当我们介绍一个地区的特色时，就可以用到 be home to。注意这里的 home 不可数，只能用单数形式。比如中国的黑龙江省大庆市是中国的石油之城，我们介绍的时候就可以说：

Daqing is home to China’s largest oil reserves.

北京有 7 处历史文化遗产入选联合国教科文组织颁布的“世界文化遗产名录”，我们就可以说：

Beijing is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

北京的中关村有近 9000 家高科技公司，我们就可以说：

Zhongguancun is home to about 9,000 hi-tech companies.

《卫报》在报道中国科幻电影《流浪地球》时说：

China is already home to a thriving science and speculative fiction literary scene.

《经济学人》在提到加州的教育改革时说：

Since California is home to around one in eight American children aged five and under, and also has the nation’s highest poverty rate, what happens there matters a great deal.

1）翻译下面的句子：

2）结合自己的生活、学习、工作、兴趣等，想象在什么语境下会用到这个表达。先简要描述这个场景，再造句。

场景： 这个村庄里有很多长寿老人。

造句：The village is home to a bunch of long-lived man.

              在说到某地拥有...可以替换。比如boast当时的例句：Shenzhen boasts a large number of fast growing technology companies. 这里就可以用is home to替换。
